Trick or treating was almost cancelled this year because less than an hour before school let out, it was raining hard outside. But after half an hour of pouring, the skies cleared up and the sun came out so everything went on as planned.
After last year's trick-or-treating experience, we learned to stick to more familiar neighbourhoods. This time around, we packed a picnic and brought the kids to a nearby park to play a little bit before having an early dinner.
As the sun started setting, the kids got changed into their costumes and were ready to go.
Caleb did a pretty good job keeping up with the big kids at first. He loved holding their hands and walking with them. But after a while, the big kids realized that they weren't going as fast as they could be (aka, they weren't getting candy as fast as they wanted to) so they eventually let go.
Not that the big kids actually went much faster. We'd always catch up at each of the houses, and Nathan would often make a second trip up the driveway with Caleb to make sure his little brother got his share.
I liked that we went around before it got dark - I could see Nathan when he ran ahead and I could get some decent pictures of the kids.
I think there were only about 10 houses to get around to, but the kids got more than enough candy and it was a gorgeous night to be walking around.
Happy Halloween!
Cute! I wondered if people in other countries go Trick or Treating :) It was cold in Seattle, but thankfully not raining.
