This time around, I happened to like the finicky nature of this project - cutting out the little rectangles, placing them in order and sewing them to make the patchwork strip. It made me feel like I was accomplishing something big.

Patchwork Coasters
During my recent fabric shopping trip, I snagged some free samples of fabric. Ever since I stumbled up on this tutorial, I have been dying to make some coasters. Unlike more seasoned sew-ers, I don't have a stash of fabric scraps to sift through, so I had to go find some scraps. These all happened to have a similar colour scheme so it was perfect.
