Finding Inspiration in Playing

The prompt for this week was "spend a day playing".

We didn't technically spend the entire day playing but for Father's Day, we spent the better part of a day at a fundraiser carnival for our friends' kindergarten school.

The first thing I saw when we arrived was this cute little ice cream truck. Don't you love the colour?

But before we could get ice cream, we had to find our friends and grab some lunch.

They had a sausage sizzle (sausage on white bread) and burgers. While I was watching the boys, Andrew topped my burger with a slice of beetroot - it's an Aussie thing. Never in a million years did I think I would try a burger with beetroot but Andrew assured me that it was good, and it was!

After lunch, Nathan spent a good chunk of time playing in the sand pit while the girls got their faces painted. That boy really loves sand. Then, we all headed over to where the kiddy rides and food stalls were.

Three of the girls wanted to go for a ride on the ferris wheel.

Nathan waited patiently watched them go around and around. He had his heart set on other things.

Like father, like son.

Nathan finished off that entire ice cream before going back to play in the sand some more.

  1. I love carnivals, but not ferris wheels. I hope my littles never feel the need to ride one of those. Great pics.
