Lucky for us, Brisbane does an early fireworks show at 8:30pm as well as one at midnight.
We headed down to South Bank for dinner, we rang in the new year at 8:30pm and the boys were in bed by 9.
Worked out well for us because at midnight, Andrew will be picking his parents up from the airport!
So wherever you are, and whatever time you will be saying "Happy New Year!" this year, I hope that you're surrounded by people you love (and who love you) and that this new year gives you a fresh start and is all you wish it to be!

Edited to add: I celebrated the real new year with Andrew, watching the fireworks from our balcony. It was gorgeous and so peaceful. Happy new year!
Wonderful! Wonderful! We cheat for the New Year too! When it's midnight in NYC, it's only ten o'clock here so we watch the 'ball drop' on TV and celebrate then!
