I'm always up for opportunities that will give my children a glimpse into different cultures. So despite it being so hot and humid outside, I dragged our family out to the Valley for the Japanese festival.
We enjoyed a martial arts demonstration with swords, traditional Japanese dance and a taiko drum performance. I was blown away by the sound and energy coming from those drums. It was awesome and intense and now, it's on my bucket list to watch another taiko drum performance. And it would be even better if I watched it in Japan.
