While I was sewing the coasters, Nathan felt it was time for Ninji (yes, that's what he named him) to have a wardrobe update. Since Ninji is a hero, Nathan wanted a cape for Ninji. So he suggested that I make one.
Instead of just cutting out a piece of scrap fabric to the shape of a cape, I thought I might use this opportunity to try out some new techniques. Like making bias tape, adding a trim to the cape, and sewing and turning a fabric tube to make "string" to tie the cape.
The project took a little longer than I had anticipated but Ninji's cape turned out well, if I do say so myself.
Now he looks like a real superhero.
I woke up with a hot feeling in my nose this morning, and for me, that's always followed by a cold. It must have been from yesterday when it dipped down to 8degrees. Apparently this is unusual for Brisbane. Again, we sure picked a good year to come over, eh? Sure enough, as the day went on, my nose got sniffly and I felt disgusting.
Nathan had a Pupil Free day today and normally, I would have just told him to go play while I slept in a little longer. But I haven't been to mom's group in a few weeks now and I had made a last minute play date with one of Nathan's school friends for the afternoon.
So I dragged myself and the two boys all over town today, trying to be as positive and not gross as possible.
At least Spidey here had a good time!
wow he's even got the right hand position and everything!
