Keep Calm and Move On

Reflecting upon this past year amid our piles of moving boxes, and even larger piles of things that have yet to be packed, I'm glad this year is coming to an end.

Not because we didn't have a good year. I think we had a great year.

We've made lots of new friends, familiarized ourselves with life in Australia and we've all grown in different ways. I'm more aware and more confident in myself than ever before. But I'm ready to move on. I'm ready for a fresh start with all the new possibilities and adventures that lie ahead.

After surviving the most horrific trip to Ikea in the history of the world, yesterday, which included vomiting, no spare clothes in the car except Andrew's t-shirt, more vomiting, no spare clothes at all, having to buy a kid-sized towel to cover my child for what was quite possibly the most humiliating walk out of Ikea, ever, and surviving a move to the other side of the world, I think we can survive anything.

But to borrow words from the Captain in Wall-E, "I don't want to survive. I want to live."

So that's what I plan to do in 2012. Live.

Let's see where this new year takes us!
