My Boys

Sometimes, people ask me if I wish I hadn't waited so long to have Caleb so that the boys would be closer in age, and my answer every single time, is no.

I love that I had plenty of time to spend with Nathan and really get to know him before Caleb came along. And now, Nathan is more independent and going to school so I get to spend quality time with Caleb.

I also love that the boys can spend time together.

Nathan's reading skills have blossomed over the past couple months. He's reading so fluently now and he's putting that skill to good use, reading to Caleb.

Caleb really looks up to Nathan and copies so many of the things that he does. He shows interest in things Nathan's interested in and makes sounds to imitate what Nathan is saying.

You can almost bet that wherever Nathan is...

Caleb will be right there, trying to do the exact same thing.

Sure, we still have to deal with one of the boys being jealous of the other's attention, or someone being a little too rough, but the moments when they're happy being with each other makes all that worth it.

It's a beautiful sight to behold and I hope and pray that the boys stay close as they grow up.
