Last Week

I must apologize for the lack of posts last week.

I fully intended on sharing about our weekend getaway to Kingscliff with our friends. We stayed in this lovely house in the middle of nowhere.

Shared lots of good food.

Spent the entire Saturday bush walking

Having to take off your shoes to cross rapid
waters at the beginning of the trail should've been
a clear indication of the treacheries that lie ahead.

(aka. walking through muddy, slippery, poorly marked trails to the side of a massive wall of rock and realizing you have to turn around and walk back the same rocky, hilly, leech-infested 5km before the sun sets. Oh, and your husband is carrying your second child so he can't assist you in walking despite brief moments of panic when you think you might get an asthma attack. No big. I'd do it again any day. *crickets*).

Blissfully unaware.

We checked out local tourist attractions, and ate ice cream to make up for the previous day's work out.

Then we spent the rest of the day on the beach before coming home.

When we got home, I was blind-sided by all the cleaning and the 5 loads of laundry we washed because the lack of sunshine meant a lack of dry clothes. It's generally not so bad living without a dryer but some days, I miss the feel of dry, warm, soft clothes straight out of the dryer. Or just dry clothes in general.

The next four days was spent out and about with Nathan and his little buddies at 1 play date...

2 outings...
One was a kids' event at the botanic gardens with all sorts of fun activities like African drumming, wearable art and a live brass band.

The second was to the planetarium to catch two of their shows.

2 sleepovers and 1 birthday party.

Oh, and did I mention that this little munchkin has decided he no longer needs to sleep? Ever?

Between him and this nasty cough that gets 100 times worse at the end of the day when I'm lying in bed, exhausted and ready for sleep, I'm spent.

I'm hoping for a little bit of rest and recovery before Thursday night, when my parents arrive for a whirlwind visit.
