Lemonade

We've been toying with the idea of making homemade lemonade at home since Nathan made it back when he was in Cycle 1. We tried making it a couple times when we had lemons sitting around but it never really tasted right.

Then, recently we were FaceTiming with my sister and she told us to make lemonade by squeezing lemon juice and adding a bit of sugar and water - typical recipe instructions in my family. Trying to limit my sugar intake, I added about a tablespoon of sugar, tasted it and thought, "Right. Now it's time to look up how to really make lemonade." So I finally looked it up and here it is.

LEMONADE (from Simply Recipes)

Ingredients
1 cup sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
1 cup water
1 cup lemon juice
3-4 cups cold water

Directions
1. Make simple syrup by heating sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved.

2. Squeeze lemons from 4-6 lemons, enough for one cup of juice.

3. Add juice and simple syrup to a pitcher. Add 3-4 cups of cold water to the desired taste. Refrigerate to chill.
