Australia Day 2013

Unlike last year, Australia Day was completely rained out this year. Before I even got out of bed I had already written off any chance of day trips to the beach or watching fireworks because it was pouring outside and according to the weather forecast, it wasn't letting up anytime soon.

Our green and gold.

Andrew started us off with our usual lazy Saturday breakfast: pancakes. Caleb was so excited about pancakes.

He accompanied Andrew to the grocery store for milk and as soon as they got home, he strapped himself into his high chair and waited the entire time as Andrew cooked, to eat those yummy pancakes.

Then we each found our own little spot upstairs and did our own thing.

We managed to get out of the house for a little while to go bowling with our friends in the City.

And of course, every trip to the CBD isn't complete without a stop at Starbucks.

While standing in line, I discovered that we had arrived just in time for half price fraps (yay!) and I realized there's a green tea (matcha) Frappuccino on the menu. Why haven't I seen that before? Of course, with this new choice, I couldn't decide which to get: green tea or my regular caramel. So I got both.

For dinner, we went as close to an Aussie barbie as we could get this year: BBQ ribs. With a side of mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.

Glad we weren't able to go out for Australia Day fireworks this year.
