Chasing Down The Party

I never thought I'd say this, but I did it! Or rather, I should say we did it! A few of my friends and I did the Puma Glow Run 5K today.

We arrived a little before the start, got all geared up and decked out in glow necklaces and bracelets and joined in the fun. They had DJs playing music, getting us all pumped up for the run. 

A short while later, we were at the starting line. It took a little longer than I had expected for them to get the waves going. They did smaller waves to space people out so that if they wanted to stop at the dance stations, it wouldn't get too crowded. 

It's a lot different running with people I've never run with. It was harder to find my own pace because I felt like I had to match theirs at the same time, but I think we did okay. Next time, I'm definitely not bringing my jacket or my keys. Or I'll have to invest in an arm pocket because having something swinging around while I run is no good.

It was too hard to get a good picture of us in the dark so this is me, finally home with a different t-shirt for tomorrow draped over my mirror, ready for an early start and another long day.

It was a good run tonight. It was lovely to have friends to go with and I'm looking forward to the next one!
