Who's Running?

This is the shadow of some crazy girl who signed up for the Glow Run 5K that's happening this coming weekend.


This is the same girl who had her mom write a note to excuse her from running the 400m and 800m in elementary school because her sad, weak asthmatic lungs just couldn't handle it. No joke.

I'm going to need all the help I can get because as of yesterday, I could barely make it 500m without wanting to keel over.

Any tips for a pre-runner?

  5. just go slow - doesn't matter how fast you make it, just that you make it. And I never ever get into my "stride" until at least 1/3 of a mile into the run. Until then I huff and puff and feel terrible, even when I'm running 3 - 4 miles a day regularly. find your sweet spot - the point where you suddenly get in a groove, and just keep your eyes on getting there. After that it is just a matter of one foot in front of the other.

  6. run when you can.. walk when you must! just go slow.. even briskwalk is fine. you can do this!! Good Luck!
